The Novant Health team know the value of health. With more than 40,000 team members and more than 2,000 physicians in over 850 locations, the not-for-profit’s team members and physician partners provide nearly 7 million patient visits annually.

A Holistic Tech Solution

The team at Novant Health wanted to create a program for team members that was geared toward lifestyle transformation through fitness, nutrition, and coaching. To make their vision of healthier lifestyles a reality, Novant Health knew they needed a reliable corporate wellness tech solution. One that enabled them to gather information, share resources, provide coaching, and touch all aspects of wellness – not just workout programs.

The Novant Health team considered many solutions, but they didn’t hit all three of the wellness elements of fitness, nutrition, and coaching. They wanted a creative, interactive solution, and wanted to ensure the option they went with allowed scalability as the program and the organization grew. And so, the Novant Health Elevate App was created with ABC Trainerize.

Personalized and Comprehensive

“The Elevate App builds on Novant Health’s strong legacy of valuing team member wellness. As our organization continues to grow, we want to ensure all our team members have access to comprehensive wellness resources. When the app was presented, we felt like it was a great opportunity to expand our offerings to meet the needs of all our team members, regardless of location,” said Novant Health Team Fitness Center Manager Matt Jordan.

This tool brings together a range of team member benefits and well-being resources. Included with the app is the option to sign up for the personalized Transform program – a 13-week coach-led, group fitness program. Novant Health team members fill out a questionnaire and receive their very own fitness, nutrition, and habit programs – plus support videos on how to use the app and complete their training.

Team members have the ability to message their coaches with questions and to share updates, and the option to share successes and struggles with their colleagues through group messaging. Ultimately, users have very comprehensive access to health and wellness resources and support, while still choosing their own level of involvement. Once this initial program is wrapped up, team members can access a nutrition-focused program that includes a monthly virtual class with a dietician.

Novant Health team member Lori Kropaczek was one of the early subscribers to the Elevate App powered by ABC Trainerize and has experienced significant results and benefits since signing up. A Novant Health team member for over six years, Kropaczek decided to sign up for the Transform coaching program to try and foster healthy lifestyle habits to improve her health and wellbeing. She now uses the app every day and loves the accountability of the holistic programming.

“I have enjoyed getting acquainted with the gym and learning how to properly use the equipment as well as proper form and technique,” says Kropaczek. She’s most enjoyed building relationships with both her personal trainer and her dietician. “They’re both been so full of knowledge and support. I would encourage anyone… to take that leap for yourself. The benefits have been so much more than I could have imagined!”
