Almost 16 years ago, when my co-founders and I launched a simple workout app for consumers, we knew we were on to something, only because people LOVED using our app for their fitness routine.

We dreamed of a world where fitness could be accessible to 8 billion people—and as we kept chipping away at our vision, we realized that if we were ever going to achieve it… there was a critical piece missing. And that was you, the personal trainer.

This changed everything. It was then that we started building Trainerize for you: the personal trainer.

Fast forward from that “aha!” moment back in 2012 to today, and Trainerize has come a long way since our early days as a consumer fitness app. For more than a decade, we’ve been living our mission to make fitness accessible while transforming the fitness industry and making online training a must-have for every coach and gym. And as we’ve witnessed the rise of wearables and consumer fitness devices, we witnessed the creation of a new client profile: the digital fitness enthusiast.

Through this all, Trainerize has been the home that brings it all together within your fitness business, empowering personal trainers and clubs to embrace optionality and help make sense of it all for the person who is looking to move more, make better food choices, and improve their lives day after day.

Along our journey, we’ve empowered over 375,000 coaches and 20,000 fitness businesses to chase their own entrepreneurial dreams and to find more freedom for work and life on their own terms.

We’ve powered through countless versions of the app and hundreds of exciting feature releases, working to give you and your clients an unparalleled app experience.

While we were building our app, we were also building a company that is fun and exciting to be a part of and—most importantly—an unimaginably talented and passionate team. Our team truly is the beating heart driving all of this.

In September 2020, we were acquired by ABC Fitness Solutions. Partnering with one of the biggest names in the fitness technology industry over the past 2 years has opened up possibilities that match, no—exceed, the already massive dream that started our very journey.

We’ve spent a lot of time thinking about how our mobile app can power any type of fitness business. We even have a fantastic working example of our mobile app powering the ABC IGNITE Engagement module, which, following our acquisition, we took to market in record time, highlighting our newly combined strength and technological capabilities as one team.

Part of what makes us us is how we are constantly evolving and using our experience and the market and product insights and feedback you share to build a next-level Trainerize for the future. We’ve termed this “Fitness Visions”, and our job is to take these fitness visions—not just ours, but yours too—and figure out how to bring them to life, where the experience for you and your clients is seamless.

To mark this official leap in our journey as a strategic product line within ABC Fitness, we’re incredibly excited to share some new changes that you will see in Trainerize over the next few weeks and throughout the rest of the year.

We’ll be sharing more info about these changes—including a glimpse of what’s coming—in the coming weeks, followed by a bigger reveal on March 20th at IHRSA 2023. We can’t wait to show you what we have in the wings!

I am personally excited to share this next milestone in the entrepreneurial journey with all of you. And our team will be keeping you all up to date and informed every step of the way. Most importantly, you can rest assured that every step forward we take from here on out will still hold you as our customer core to our “why” and the fuel that keeps us redefining the fitness industry.
